The tubes come apart
Each hub has a 1” hollow shaft with ¼” keyway and through bolt to slip it right over the 1” shaft of the hydraulic root cutter and lock it in place
Tube assembly above ground is cumbersome and requires at least 3 workers
As the locking dog slides in the groove a slight rotation will engage it firmly into the coupling center hole and hold the coupling securely while assembling the rod nuts
Saves your suction pump and fuel when the amount of debris does not warrant setting up the combo
