with a 1 1/2” inch sewn loop at the top for easy hanging from a dowel

They are in very good vintage condition

I especially love the rather goofy expression on this one

which kept them in great shape

I'd guess it might have been made as a card box (I believe two decks would fit inside), but would be good for all sorts of things. The leather is wonderfully worn to a warm dark brown and it just has a great feeling to it. The leather hinge connecting the lid to base on the back side is mostly split
