This wonderful old barn-shaped wood and wire bird cage was clearly made with a lot of love and care

I might guess 1950s or so but am not completely sure

which I believe adds to its appeal as a truly remarkable object

it is just visible from the back

So moody and evocative, making me want to write all sorts of stories about things that happened inside. Late 19th c. or so Id guess. Oil on linen. 10 x 8 Paint loss and aging as evident, but if handled with a little care it seems pretty stable now.
