Wonderfully soulful and gentle looking painted face with red mouth and inset bit of wood for the nose

There is a patent date of 1907 on the spring release and I believe these date to right around then

black ink on cream paper

Super solid structural shape and what I think is quite a gorgeous surface

Moody, Painterly Antique Sixth Plate Tintype of Handsome Man with Beard and Mustache hooked handle Just recently I found severalQuite a moody feeling small tintype portrait, with a bit of blur to the face that makes this bearded man feel quite ghostly and one with with darkness. Striking and a little haunting too. 3 1 4" x 2 1 16". Clipped left corners, general wear, some surface erosion along the bottom edge, all feeling of a piece with it.
