What to make of the bust on pillar with pink ribbon
which shows handwritten text (i presume written by the original owner rather than the maker but hard to know for sure) in graphite on one side
how I love this bowl
but feels like the perfectly right way to portray this little house and the two of them in their hats and dresses
with some aging to the fabric
Many Georges, Antique Folk Art Plate with Cut Stamp Decoration and Threaded Ribbon milk crate What to make of theI found this one in Lancaster, PA a few weeks ago. Another permutation on postal stamp art I believe: looks to me like the George Washington silhouettes and all of the rest of the tiny cut paper bits were cut from stamps and envelopes, with cancellation marks showing here and there. Oh, the creative resourcefulness of yore, nothing going to waste. Wonderfully graphic against the black milk glass plate. With original (once surely brighter) pink ribbon
