Description
Based on the scale and nail at the front of the rolling base
Box shows tons of wear and water damage
There are plenty of similar Staffordshire spill vases out there in excellent condition should one be looking for one
and I believe it dates from the early 20th century when it would have been used as a festival dance mask
with fantastically detailed feathers (whoever draw this clearly got lost in the pleasures of mark-making) and wonderfully striped talons
