I don't believe it is very old (I found another with the same fox and a pewter lid being sold online by a German importer)
or Imo--perhaps a gorgeous huge sweet potato

They are woodblock prints of kimono textile designs by F uruya Krin, also known as Krin Furuya, and Furutani Krin, 18751910, a Japanese artist, illustrator, and designer active in the Kyoto arts and crafts circle in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Published c. 1900 I believe in a volume titled "Bijutsukai." Paper: 9 1 2" x 6 9
