Much Eroded Old Atlas Tires Sign man with wild hair I'd guess the painting--titled "TheI find this old Atlas Tires sign, c. 1940s early 50s, pretty beautiful in its much rusted and eroded state. Apparently this particular sign is quite a rare one, made to be used in pairs, with the "wings" folded and bolted together, leaving a gap between the two for a tire to rest upon for display. This one seems never to have been used that way but clearly was left out in the elements for many years, perhaps in wait of its mate! I love the winged form
