one of two in the shop that came from a larger collection of drawings executed by the unknown artist on a Grand Tour encompassing Italy

the shortest 4 1/8" long

There seems no end to the genres of things I've developed fondness for

but I find it pretty transcendent

A little further research leads me to believe that he was a member of the very prominent Sayward family of York Maine. In any event, really a nice landscape painting I think, oil on board with satisfying impasto especially on the leaves of
