but for an unglazed middle section decorated with bands of blue squiggles in slight relief

It features three beautiful concentric ribbed bands around both top and bottom

The deep hatbox style lid fits snugly over the high-sided container

open on the bottom

Wooden Barrel Box for Steel Carpet Tacks accordian box They are in great conditionI'm a sucker for a barrel shaped box, and this is a sweet little one from early 1900's made for Atlas Tack Company, Boston, MA to hold steel carpet tacks. The tacks themselves are long gone, but it makes a nice container now for needles or pills or other small things. Good antique condition with some dryness and light cracking to the unfinished wood. 2" tall x 1 7 8" wide.
