Description
an amalgam of ripe black fruits
terrific thrust and sneaky rising floral perfume
liquorice and dark chocolate
This is very definitely and ‘buy and forget it somewhere deep in the cellar’ wine
when the average harvest requires only 22 pairs of vineyard hands
Gaffeliere other_regions an amalgam of ripe blackThe 2009 La Gaffelire has a rather over the top bouquet with smudged definition. It feels as if it underwent a warmer or longer maceration than its peers. The palate is medium bodied with a slightly viscous texture on the entry, lower acidity than many Right Banks, glossy and honeyed in texture towards the finish. Not really my style of wine, it feels cloying after a while. I much prefer the 2010 La Gaffelire that I tasted the week previously. Tasted
