but I must say that the aura-like ring of patterning around him
right down to the fact that this young boy holds his (wonderfully awkward) teddy bear upside down
and perhaps especially the rendering of the seated cross-legged next to his campfire int he background
allowing the body to curve and snake
with a bit of a Caves of Lascaux feel to this cluster of animal head silhouettes I think
Esther Pressoir, Artist and Model, c. 1930 Signed Lithograph (no. 1) marching cadet but I must say thatI knew nothing of Esther Estelle ("Stella") Pressoir (American, 1902 1980) when I found this signed lithograph along with several other works by her at Brimfield (an ink drawing and an etching also listed today, and a few more to come), but what a delight it has been to learn a bit about her, and Stella's star is most definitely on the rise.
