Description
Shafer described 2011 as "London in Napa Valley
The 2001 isn't quite as structured as the 1999
(from a 1 ha parcel of 50+ year old vines that see 40% new wood)
this is a complete wine of simply fantastic length
This will require at least 15 years to be at its best and 20 would not surprise me
Bouchard Pere et Fils, Corton Charlemagne Blanc Vintage:2020 Shafer described 2011 as "London(from a huge 3. 65 ha plot in Le Corton). A restrained and cool nose combines notes of green apple and pear with those of lemon rind and white flower that, once again, are set off by a discreet note of wood nuances. As one would reasonably expect, the mouthfeel of the medium weight flavors that possess a lovely texture on the lightly mineral inflected, focused finish that displays noticeable warmth and a touch of sweetness.
