a philanthropic organization  founded in 1892 that provided medical and social services to people in rural communities of northern Newfoundland and Labrador

but presume it dates from the first half of the 20th century

I'd guess this oversized reproduction was made in the mid-20th century (though I have found no others like it) and was beautifully done--solid bronze

The whole thing is pretty great though, and I really like how the figure is executed as a bust, with especially nice profile views showing strong jawline and high cheekbones. The notch in the blade half way done is pretty great too. Very nice. 7 1 2" long x 3 4" wide x 9 16" deep. Very good vintage condition.
